Where have the years gone?

A friend sent me an email with a program that allowed me to enter the year of my birth to learn what happened that year. It was a time of change following World War II. Many of the countries in Africa had names different from today. Our alliances with countries have changed dramatically. I am now more than twice the age that my parents were when I was born. The long playing record was invented in the year of my birth. Now records have been replaced with downloadable music. In many ways I see how my life is filled with conveniences that allow me to do more in my day. Technology allows me to share my thoughts with millions of people I don't even know. My understanding of the laws of the Universe is light years ahead of what was happening in the year of my birth. The years really haven't gone anywhere. They are time passed filled with memories and experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. The most important part of these years is what I have done with them in making a difference in the lives of others. In the years remaining I can choose to live the life I imagine for myself regardless of what is reportedly happening around me. In retrospect how have you filled the years since you were born?
