Where is the love?
There are people who spend the majority of their lives seeking a partner who will complete them with their love. They desire someone who will make them the center of attention. They will constantly remind them how empty their life was before they met. When this occurs, they know that they will have found true love. Imagine what that would be like for the other person. They would have to be totally focused on the state of mind of their partner. Would that even be possible? Whenever we look to someone or something outside ourselves to generate a sense of feeling loved, we most likely will be setting ourselves up for disappointment and heartache. Where does love originate? It ultimately is an inside job. Loving ourselves can be one of our greatest challenges since few of us seem to have a blueprint for that. It comes from being kind, gentle, and patient with ourselves. It comes from asking for what we need that nurtures who and what we are. If you were to rate your level of self-love today what would that rating be and what could you do to raise it?
