Where's the finish line?

Remember that life is a journey, not a destination. Along the way you will experience a series of milestones but they are not the finish line. Once you achieve them, you will move on to the next one. Some of those milestones include graduating from some level of education, buying your first home, or marrying. Unlike the fairy tales that end with, “And they lived happily ever after,” that is only the beginning. Life goes on. And with it comes the next steps to the next milestone. Thus enters the excitement of what life brings on a daily basis. Your day will unfold and bring new opportunities for growth and celebration. Perhaps your finish line for that day is turning in a project at work that you have poured your heart into. Much like a runner at the end of a race, you breathe a sigh of relief for a job well done knowing that another project awaits you. I suppose the only true finish line is when we breathe our last breath in this lifetime. But even then many believe that there is something that exists beyond that. The finish line may be nonexistent, so why not choose to approach life from that perspective? It can certainly help take the pressure off of you. How would your life look different if you redefined the finish line as a milestone and celebrated its presence as continuation and not an ending?
