Worth the wait

Sixteen years ago I began my search for the home of my dreams. That search included countless visits to open houses in the Bay area. I thought for sure that northern California would be the site of that dream home. But the universe had different plans for me. Two years ago I visited central Oregon and rethought where my dream home might be located. Again the search began with visiting potential homes in person and online. After two years the home of my dreams became a reality. Most people of my age look to downsize. My dream was to upsize. Last week I moved into the largest home I have ever lived in while residing in the smallest town I have ever lived in. Each morning I watch the sun rise over my back yard that people describe as parklike. It isn't unusual to have deer pass through. There is even a small waterfall that feeds into a creek. I always dreamed I would live near water. The universe has a sense of humor. As I write this blog on my birthday, I could not have asked for a better birthday present. It was worth the wait.
