You can't take it with you
You probably have heard innumerable times that you can't take it with you. This refers to material objects and, in particular, money. While you can't physically take it with you, you can leave a long lasting legacy with how you use it while you are here. Think of individuals who have established charitable foundations that provide scholarships, medical procedures, and housing to those in need. Perhaps there is something you have in your possession that would bring joy to another when you are no longer here to appreciate it. These are ways that you can make a difference to future generations. It doesn't have to be major. It can be whatever you believe would have a positive effect in the life of another. I have items that belonged to my mother and grandmother that may not be of significant financial value, but the memories they elicit when I look at them are priceless. When we are connected through such physical objects, we are reminded that the passage of time does not diminish our presence. Look at how the works of Da Vinci and Beethoven keep them alive in our minds. You are no less in the difference you make in your legacy. What are the footprints you leave behind that remind people that you have been here?
