Your choice in the matter
When we hear a person justify a decision with, "But I had no choice," they are really saying, "I had other choices, but this is the only one that worked for me." In any given situation we have multiple options. It is up to us to take responsibility for the choices we make. I look back on some of the decisions I have made in my life and wish I had acted upon them differently. I have had to make amends to people I had harmed through my words and actions. That was another choice I consciously made. I could have chosen to say or do nothing, but that was incompatible with how I now wanted to live my life. When it doesn't seem like there are many choices available, remember that you can always choose to change your attitude. You might tell yourself that you choose not to be a victim in a situation. When you declare this, new options can suddenly come into being. One gift that mankind has been given is that of free will. We can choose actions that harm or help ourselves and others. It is always your choice. What are you freely choosing today?
