Your life's purpose
You arrive on this planet bestowed with a message that you spend the rest of your life attempting to unravel. What is my purpose in life? Why am I here. Your earlier years are spent having experiences that help you make sense of your life. You internalize the "should" messages that are communicated to you by your family, friends, school, and other organizations. Your true purpose may become clouded by these messages as to who you are and are meant to be. As you mature, you take on new roles such as parent, spouse, or worker and they further help in your understanding of why you are here. But again they may overshadow the true purpose of you being here in this lifetime. As you continue to age, you are reminded of that purpose. It may be a desire to change the nature of the work you do. We often hear people who are older talking about finding the work they were meant to do. People look for what will bring them greater joy and satisfaction. But what if there was no sole purpose, but rather a series of them based on each stage of your life? Perhaps our sole task is to develop a consciousness of what we are to be doing at each stage of our life and being the best at whatever that is. Wouldn't the essence of what that is change as time passes? What do you see as the purpose of your life today and how has that changed over time?
