Forgiveness

When we focus on people or events that bring up feelings such as anger, vengeance, or malice, we stay mired in those emotions. We may justify them based on the situation. Ultimately the feelings they generate harm us more than the person or event by which we feel victimized. The term "resentment" means to feel the emotions over and over as if they were occurring for the first time. To release us from this on-going cycle of pain, it is necessary to forgive the source of it. This does not mean that we grant approval for what was done or "forgive and forget." We may be required to take additional action that accompanies the severity of what the other person did. We learn to separate this action from feelings that come up around it for our own healing. It is not so important for us to understand why someone acted as they did, but simply to know that the consequences of their choices are in the hands of something greater than us. Once we are free of these bonds we can create a vibrational level that attracts more of what we truly desire in life. Who in your life have you been giving your power to and you need to forgive for your sake?
