Lessons in letting go
A number of years ago I was contacted by a well-known organization to be interviewed for an article on the topic of career coaching as it related to an actual job seeker. I was asked to provide suggestions as to how the person could improve their job search skills. After agreeing to the interview, I carefully thought through the situation and outlined my responses. The interview went well and I was told that the article would be published in the next three months. I anxiously waited to see what was written. The issue finally arrived with no article. Neither did the article appear in the three following editions. When I contacted the organization several times I was informed that someone would be in touch to explain the status of the article. A month later I was still waiting. I realized at this time that I needed to let go of this happening. If the suggestions I made helped the job seeker, then perhaps that was all that mattered. If the article is published in the future, all well and good. Things don't always turn out the way we plan them. What do you need to let go of so that you can move on in life?
