Your final words
Imagine that you are approaching your time of transition from this lifetime to whatever awaits you next. Have you ever thought what your final words would be? As I think about the final words a person might say, what comes to mind are the various stages of grief that someone would experience in a loss. For many of us, death is the ultimate loss. Will your final words be those of denial? "This can't be happening to me." You may express extreme anger about having to leave this earthly plane. This may involve blaming those around you for the state you are in. Perhaps they will be words of bargaining. "If you let me live a little longer, I promise I will do things differently." Will your final words be a litany of regrets? "I wish I had..." or "I always wanted to..." Or will they be words of acceptance? "I have spent my time here doing what I was meant to do. I am ready to move on." There is no right or wrong way to approach the death of your earthly body. Which of these five responses would you want your final words to be?
